Cocktail of the Week: Ardbeg’s Big Beast Sour

With Halloween just around the corner, Islay distillery Ardbeg have collaborated with event production company The Persuaders and artisan ice cream parlour Ruby Violet to produce an ‘Ice Scream’ truck which is taking Ardbeg-infused ice creams and cocktails to several cities around the country this week.

Now, you can try one of their smokey cocktails for yourself — inspired by the New York Sour, the 'Big Beast Sour' is an Ardbeg whisky sour with the addition of a fittingly blood-like top layer of red wine.

50ml Ardbeg Wee Beastie
25ml fresh lemon juice
15ml sugar syrup
½ egg white
15ml red wine


Shake all ingredients except the red wine over cubed ice, double strain into a glass, and drizzle the red wine on top.
