GlenWyvis Distillery has announced the launch of its second three-year-old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, with 5% of online sales donated to the GoodWill fund.
8,000 bottles will be made available, which can be purchased on the distillery’s website as well as specialist retailers in the UK. An allocation will also be available for purchase in Germany, GlenWyvis’ largest non-UK shareholder base. Bottled at an ABV of 46.5%, the single malt has matured in Tennessee whiskey barrels, as well as oloroso hogsheads from Spain and refilled Scotch whisky hogsheads. Its RRP is £59.95 and can be purchased here.
The GoodWill fund is a fund that benefits community projects and good causes in the distillery’s local vicinity. Its main objectives include supporting the learning needs of disadvantaged children, providing education and information about the culture of Ross-shire, and encouraging economic activity in the IV postcode area.
£10,000 will be shared between these three elements, with further funding at four month intervals, beginning in January 2023.
Retired GP Jock Ramsay from the GoodWill management committee commented: “Sales of our Single Malt Whisky are going very well, and we are now building up the GoodWill Fund for next year. We will be promoting our Fund initially to schools and community groups in the Dingwall area and to sustainable businesses in Ross-Shire and the wider Highland area as our funds allow. Application forms will be available on the GlenWyvis website in January and applications will be vetted objectively by the GoodWill Fund sub-committee with oversight and input from the Board. This is a significant step forward for GlenWyvis Community Benefit Society as we are now able to start to give something back to the Community through the GoodWill Fund.”
Located in the Scottish Highlands, GlenWyvis is a 100% community-owned distillery, with more than 3,000 people invested since its 2015 establishment.
