Smokehead releases new limited-edition stout cask expression

The peated Islay single malt gets another layer of depth from part-finishing in stout casks
Having recently launched the first-ever pre-mixed single malts in a ready-to-drink can (‘Smokehead mixed with Cola’ and ‘Smokehead mixed with Ginger and Lime’), Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky has announced its latest release, Twisted Stout. The limited-edition expression has been part-finished in stout casks.

The Distillery describes this whisky as smoother and silkier than previous expressions, but “still packing that unmistakably Smokehead peaty punch”, with the creamy, malty stout flavour adding notes of toffee, roasted nuts, biscuits and more.

Commenting on the launch, Iain Weir, Smokehead brand director, said, “Our unique and disruptive Smokehead thinking has led to some convention challenging [...] whiskies over the years, that don't follow the usual traditions and rituals…

Twisted Stout is as far away from a standard single malt as the combination of tastes, aromas and flavours inside the bottle.”

With an RRP £49.99 and an ABV of 43%, Twisted Stout is available to purchase exclusively from
