The Great Oregon Wine Co. & Distillery has released a new addition to its lineup of whiskeys and gin under the Ransom brand: Ransom Bourbon.

This first batch of Ransom Bourbon, with its 4-grain mash bill of corn, rye, wheat and malted barley, was blended from bourbons distilled in Oregon and Indiana and aged a minimum of 2 years in charred American oak. The goal is to transition to 100% Oregon-based distillation once enough stock is produced over the coming years.

The distillery says the 44% ABV whiskey presents classic bourbon aromas, along with notes of toffee, soft caramel and sweet corn, a honeyed mouthfeel, and a zesty rye-forward finish.

“This Bourbon is truly a labor of love, and I’m really excited to bring a new Oregon bourbon to the whiskey scene,” said master distiller, Matt Cechovic. “Try it with our Ransom Sweet Vermouth to make a 'Ransom Manhattan'.”

Located in the green foothills of Oregon, Ransom Spirits distils in a hand-hammered, direct-fired French alembic pot still. The Great Oregon Wine Co. & Distillery and Ransom are both distillers and winemakers, and say they blend whiskey like they make wine.
