Tasting notes
Taster   Joe Bates
Nose: Earthy peat dominates here. In the background: leather, treacle and dates.
Palate: There’s a creaminess to this whisky, which along with the vanilla balances out the dry peatiness.
Finish: A dry, smoky finish that’s not overpowering.
Comment: A pleasant, full-bodied dram which holds back on the peat.
7.8
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Pineapple and honey, with vanilla, digestive biscuits, ginger, cinnamon and smoky peat.
Palate: Honey and lemon, crème brûlée and cereal notes overly soft, spicy peatiness.
Finish: Peppery, lingering light smokiness, drying to plain chocolate.
Comment: A very drinkable peated Highlander. Good to see Ardmore’s unique take on peated whiskies is gaining a much greater exposure.
