Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Huge richness combines with raspberry. Punchy. Green apples tempered with vanilla custard. Spices, cinnamon and brown sugar lurk, deep rich incense. Like sneaking a toffee apple into communion.
Palate: Lots of that vanilla custard floods the tongue, that sharpness takes a back seat but is still there. Then wood tannins take over, drying the palate a little.
Finish: Deep rich, plenty of vanilla and just a touch of that dryness.
Comment: Nicely balanced and quite morish.
7.3
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Simultaneously sharp and rich; fresh peelings from apples next to freshly baked, cinnamon-topped apple pie, with vanilla pods, raisins and spilt lemon juice on the worktop.
Palate: Creamy texture. Vanilla and butterscotch with those apple peelings, lemon and liquorice root hiding out in the background, before some tannin and cracked white pepper dry things out.
Finish: Confected apples, dates and sawdust.
Comment: A perfectly serviceable dram. Easy drinking, but quickly forgotten.
