Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Subtle but deep with plenty of oak to begin with along with coffee, chicory, barley, oxidised fruit, orange and oily peanut / walnuts. Showing some delightful maturity and sweetness which reminds me of a late harvested wine.
Palate: Soft and unctuous with an oxidised Cognac-esque fruit rancio, then lightly coffeed oak. Dried (non-sherried) fruit is the focal point. Oozing class and maturity with a sweet spice note.
Finish: Finish: Long and gently spiced with the Cognac-esque notes lingering.
Comment: Two words... Simply stunning!
9.2
Taster   Charles Montanaro
Nose: Welcoming old oak, sweet acacia honey moving into an enjoyable fresh, vanilla and orange heavy nose finishing on a buttery note which screams creaminess.
Palate: Opening a candy store, with toffee, burnt caramel, cooked sour apple going into a warming, pleasantly full bodied malted barley.
Finish: Peppery clean, with a tingling finish which comes dangerously close to astringent.
Comment: An enjoyable dram, albeit its astringency could be a problem for some.
