Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Almost like having breakfast, goat's milk and honey nut cornflakes. But also has a savoury edge: roast chicken and beef stock cubes.
Palate: Rich and oily, coats the mouth with mango and apples. The oak comes with some spices and dries the mouth a little.
Finish: Long with cream and some more fruits emerging at the end.
Comment: A very interesting whisky, great before dinner or for a session.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Some mighty mature stock here. Black/fried banana, woodiness, damp earth, leaf mould and pencil shavings. Water brings out Taiwanese Oolong.
Palate: Lots of rich, sweet oak and silky tropical fruit. Ripe and succulent before it dries into basil, dried mint - bouquet garni.
Finish: Long with some oaky notes.
Comment: Rich and balanced.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Stewed fruit compote dusted with cinnamon. Clotted cream and honey. There is also a hint of patchouli.
Palate: Hits you in waves of spice, malt and then sherry soaked fruit pudding. There is a touch of mint dark chocolate, almost spearmint.
Finish: Long with that chocolate note.
Comment: Great blending, and should set the benchmark for premium older blends.

Nose: Scented. Very waxy: scented candle, incense and then pure (jellied) fruitsand peach/apricot and some hot apple crumble. Complex and charming.
Palate: Obviously old, there's cinnamon and a dusty rose, some strawberry and light, balancing tannins. There's a clean peppermint character which adds freshness.
Finish: Dries a little.
Comment: Long and serious.
