Tasting notes

Taster Chris Goodrum

Nose: Soft, toffeed corn mingles with coffee, herbal rye and big oak notes. Classy, beautifully balanced with hints of earth, butter shortbread and milk chocolate; a slight salinity.
Palate: Soft and harmonious. Like the nose with the toffeed corn and lightly herbal rye in perfect balance with the delicious, creamy oak. Chocolaty on the middle, both milk and dark with hints of earth and spices.
Finish: Long and succulent with a little rose petal marc note.
Comment: As I was tasting this I scribbled – must be Eagle Rare 10 Years Old. Is it?

Taster Joel Harrison

Nose: Menthol, cinnamon balls, nutmeg and all spice. This has spices but also a depth of aroma from over-reduced summer fruit compote.
Palate: Sweet brown sugar gives this a supersized flavour, developing into warm cinnamon and banana muffins, topped with toasted oats.
Finish: Huge red cherry on the finish which would make this perfect to throw into an Old Fashioned.
Comment: A fruity little number which is undoubtedly a good option for both sipping and mixing. Versatile.
