Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Caramel toffee, burnt brown sugar, pear drops and warming rye bread. Candied apple slices, lots of vanilla and buttered popcorn. Some exoticfruits lurk too.
Palate: Toasted marshmallows, vanilla crisp biscuits. Then the fruit comes through with vague dusty spices.
Finish: A little bitter wood and sweetness.
Comment: Complex and well put together.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Unusual nose for a whisky! So rum like. One of those medicinal long fermentation Caribbean rums. Cloves, guava jam, heady exotic flowers.Mango juice.
Palate: Sweet at first then astringent. The same rum aromas. It can't be a whisky. The sweet flavours come back. Roasted banana, cloves again.
Finish: Fades away quickly. Sweet and astringent at the same time.
Comment: I am puzzled, Crown Royal? Well I'd never have guessed.
