Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Rich maltiness. Some sherry.
Palate: Clean, firm, nutty, toasty. Becoming marshmallowy. A hint of ginger.
Finish: Silky. Smoky. A well-judged touch of peaty dryness.
Comment: I have long had a sneaking feeling that this malt was underrated. It is: based on my first tasting of the day, in April, 2003.
7.8
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Very malty (Weetabix) medium-bodied with light oak and a mossiness/fresh-turned sod note. With water, there's coconut pulp, orange, nougat.
Palate: Dry, crisp and quite oaky. Some light honey, and orange again alongside maltiness.
Finish: Dry, short but appetising.
Comment: A good, solid all-rounder.
