Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Strong rye aromas treat the nose with a whiff of pepper and toasted brown bread. Then it's into stewed pumpkin, tomato vines and a subtle note of modelling glue. A strange, but pleasing ensemble.
Palate: The spicy rye delivers liquorice on the palate, with cherry sherbet, aniseed balls and a burnt toast note. Bold and powerful.
Finish: Lingering liquorice and spice.
Comment: A very bold American whiskey indeed. I'm thinking Sazerac cocktail time right now but spare me the Cognac. This will do just fine on its own.

Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Orange and lime marmalade, peach jam and granary toast sprinkled with all spice. Warm fruit tea with golden syrup. red liquorice, aniseed balls and liqueur chocolates.
Palate: Orange liqueur, pear drops and grapefruit zest. Quite botanical like juniper and angelica. Soft vanilla and lots of sweet shop confectionery.
Finish: Toasted at full strength, smoothes out with water.
Comment: Curious – it was more like a liqueur than a whisky.
