Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Fragrant, inspired. Mango and guava. Beeswax. Toffee. Peppercorn. A whiff of sea-breeze.
Palate: Smooth, mellow. Honeyish. Then sailing off with dainty sea flavours. Cinnamon and coffee fudge. Toasted almond.
Finish: Spicy, long, warming. Walnut stain. An echo of peat smoke.
Comment: Neat, characterful and witty. Keeps the woody tones in the back.
8.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Full, mellow and elegant. It starts quite restrained. Tangerine, soft chewy fruitiness with apricot jam. Smoky seaside aromas and a custard creaminess and baked apple/ginger with water. Phew.
Palate: Soft with good silky/waxy mouthfeel. Cooked apple then heathery smoke. Superb balance.
Finish: Heathery.
Comment: Subtle and beautifully balanced. A sophisticated drink which will ease blend drinkers into malts - and vice-versa.
