Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Touches of maturity. Light licks of leather, cinnamon and allspice. A citric touch akin to orange peel. Soft sweet fruits. Balanced.
Palate: Clean and graceful. More of an apple box character emerges alongside some light mintiness. Light but clean and well balanced.
Finish: Medium length. Sweet.
Comment: 18 years already? Cooley continues to show its quality.
7.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sweet. Delicate. Restrained. Barley water. But not much more. A grainy note. Water brings out oakiness.
Palate: Thick. Syrupy but also watery. Hazelnut fudge. Getting astringent. With water, the sweetness becomes cloying.
Finish: Sweet, oaky, astringent.
Comment: A 18 year old whisky should have a more exciting aromatic profile.
