Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A rather standard nose of heather honey, damp sand, light oak influence and barley water. Some Lockets lozenges, and just a touch of black pepper.
Palate: Green apples at first, followed by some over-ripe figs and then a slight bitterness of envelope glue. Gala melons follow to add some juice.
Finish: Spiced vanilla and chai take the drinking seat. Lots going on but not much balance.
Comment: Quite a loud whisky but it needs to find its feet more.
7.9
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Hard, industrial with baked fruit, earth and dusty spice. A touch of balancing honey appears.
Palate: A little more caramel oak but the focus is still on the hard as nails barley and industrial character. Slightly earthy and a little bitter on the middle.
Finish: Good length, although a little spirity with lingering baked fruit, coffee and herbal spice.
Comment: Not a style of whisky that I get on with and this doesn’t have enough balancing sweetness from either fruit or spirit.
