Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Phenolic. Creosote. Dying bonfire. In the back a sweet core. Vanilla biscuit, oatcake and pear nectar.
Palate: Sweet and caressing. The alcohol is beautifully mastered. Refreshing grassy notes. Mint and lemon. The smokiness is aerial and fades away without drying the palate.
Finish: Sweet and fresh.
Comment: An appetising islander. On the sweet side. Bring the langoustines and the scallops.
8.5
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: The peat is quite up front, coal buckets and an old wood fire. There is sweetness too here, syrup waffles and soft fruits.
Palate: Very lush and dense. Plenty of sweetness and clingy oak. Citrus notes come through the gentle smoke.
Finish: Again lush.
Comment: A well balanced whisky and certainly one for the outdoors.
