Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Grassy, herbal. Dry hay, angelica, lemon grass. Fresh lemon. Very zesty. Young and vibrant.
Palate: Unexpected sweetness at start. A zesty tanginess with a pleasant cereal note. Alcohol strength is not easy to cope with.
Finish: Long, warm, slightly burning. Oaty dryness.
Comment: A herbal tea for those who like it hot and pungent. Lovely nose. Good balance. Definitely needs water to tame the strength.
7.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Light and quite high-toned, even slightly yeasty with a hint of grass, melon. Fairly plain. Stewed fruit, quince jam, rhum vieux.
Palate: Dusty. Powdered lime, yeast and decent intensity. Fresh and fruity and young with good mid-palate sweetness.
Finish: Slightly sour and not wholly balanced.
Comment: Has that slightly edgy quality of a spirit that hasn't quite resolved itself with the oak.
