Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: A fresh, granity, estery nose of apricot, pineapple, barley and honey. Herbs and fragrant oak with hints of heather and smoke.
Palate: Oilier and shows a touch more barley and honey. Fragrant and herbal with fleshy fruit and a thread of peat. The minerality comes through powerfully on the middle trailing a touch of vanilla.
Finish: Long, juicy and succulent and beautifully balanced. Lingering sweet oak, herbs and smoke.
Comment: A classic American oak aged Highland. Just the sort that you should have in your whisky cupboard.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Peat smoke, gooseberry fool, kiwifruit, and fresh green veg.
Palate: A good balance of parsley, smoke, zingy vanilla, some aubergine, cumin and capers.
Finish: Fresh vanilla, smoke and basil.
Comment: A light heated whisky. 10 points less if this had no smoke…
