Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Malty and oaky. Vanilla toffee. Chestnut purée. Some sawdust. Medlars. Quite intense really.
Palate: Sweet at first then a firm oak grip brings in astringency. Hazelnut toffee.Coffee beans. Water makes it sherbety.
Finish: Dry, slightly prickly. Nutty aftertaste.
Comment: The nose is interesting, the palate is more oaky than the nose. I wasexpecting more balance.
7.4
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Quite funky, with light sulphur/rubber to start. Touch of mashing cereal andthen, in a positive way, enamel paint.
Palate: Quite dry on the sides, clinging in the centre. Changes mid-palate into apple but always with a slightly aggressive edge. Lightens with water allowing a toasted note to develop.
Finish: Bready.
Comment: Sadly unbalanced.
