Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: A depth of honey aromas. Beeswax. Finally, a balancing flowery dryness and faint smokiness.
Palate: Very slow emergence of flavours. Firm, dryish, honey. Biscuity maltiness. A hint of bitter chocolate. A surge of soft, smokiness, with peat.
Finish: Hint of anis. Satisfying. Long.
Comment: Extraordinary flavour development. An astonishingly complex whisky.
9.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Slow to open. Elegant and mature. Blue cheese, church halls/hassocks. Light smoke and hint of chocolate.
Palate: Old, but still with a fresh and youthful centre. Good balance.
Finish: Woody, bung cloth.
Comment: Has the extra dimension which sets the finest old whiskies apart.
