Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Complex. Starts with bung cloth and concentrated fruits; then cereal, a hint of smoke, and floral notes (Cognac) citrus, pine wood, light chocolate, freshly charred wood, orange zest.
Palate: Intense. The oak has grip but sufficient caramelised flavours to carry.
Finish: Long, tingling, elegant.
Comment: A classic complex mature whisky where the wood has not taken over.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Woody, musty. Sherry. Walnut oil. Cappuccino then wet ground coffee. More sherry. Liquorice lozenges. Hint of praline.
Palate: Sweet and sour. Coffee toffee. Gripping.
Finish: Lingering, spicy and dry. Liquorice.
Comment: Sherry wood is undoubtedly invasive but yet, here's a complex one. To be softened by chocolate pralines or almond biscuits.
