Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Dark Rye bread, intense deep floral notes, lilacs and daffodils. Melting sugar just as it turns to caramel. Quite spicy. Antique wood boxes.
Palate: Sweet with an inticing bitter edge. Oak vanillins and hard Harrogate toffee. Then lush cooked fruits, stewed apples, ginger and raisins.
Finish: Warming with sherry and spice notes.
Comment: A lovely intense whisky, a good winter warmer or for those contemplative late night moments.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Intense, creamy. Fudge. Milk chocolate. Orange curd.
Palate: Satin-like. Smooth at first but the oak grip takes the lead; combined with sweeter flavours. Toffee, semi-bitter chocolate. Orange gingerbread. Crystallised ginger.
Finish: Medium long with a malty aftertaste.
Comment: A strong character with complexity and good structure. Oak is very present but in an elegant way.
