Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Mature, highly extracted aromas. Varnish, fruit jams alongside cherry, bitter chocolate, barley sugar, overripe apricot and dunnage warehouse.
Palate: Vinous. The dense fruits re-appear with a balancing sourness and a hint of bitter orange peel. Powerful, rich, thick and waxy/unctuous that, once diluted, reveals membrillo and rose hip syrup.
Finish: Cedar and liquorice.
Comment: Odd, askew, individual and marvellous but way too pricey. On liquid alone the score is 9.1
9.1
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Woody. Damp wood. Some mustiness. Humus. A sweet note slowly emerges. Orange squash.
Palate: Smooth at first followed by a fizzy burst. Alcohol is well mastered. Powerful but not biting. Sweet malty notes with an orangey touch. Spices. Chili, nutmeg.
Finish: Short but soothing on dried almonds.
Comment: The nose is not very inviting but the palate is more interesting. A few dropsof water cuts the edges.
7.8
