Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Dry sherry and lots of natural caramel.
Palate: Big mouthfeel with lots of ripe fruit. Sweet throughout, like sugared plums and custard.
Finish: The longest, most full-bodied finale of all; rich saline oakiness and toasty malt. The rich fruit is never far away.
Comment: A big whisky which shows not all Speysiders are shrinking violets. Beautifully weighted throughout; breathtaking complexity.
8.5
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Peaty. Lightly phenolic.
Palate: Sweet, syrupy. Lightly creamy. Developing light floweriness and sugared almonds.
Finish: Peach-stone notes. Attenuated. Dry.
Comment: A little woody. Choice of cask?
