Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fragrant. Fino sherry. Sacks of spices.
Palate: Wistful. Restrained. Fresh, peat-smoke.
Finish: Wonderfully appetising interplay of juicy sweetness and clean, light, smokiness.
Comment: Drink it and travel back in time. It is one of the finest malts I have ever tasted.
9.8
Taster   David Robertson
Nose: Sweet ripe apples, lemon and orange.
Palate: Strongly phenolic with citrus fruit.
Finish: Rich, oily and viscous on the palate with a long citrus and phenolic aftertaste.
Comment: Spicier than the 1946 Macallan with the peatiness less pronounced.
