Tasting notes
Taster   Ian Wisniewski
Nose: Extra virgin olive oil, with underlying tar and embers, then honey and vanilla.
Palate: Toastyness overlain by a wave of creamy vanilla, honey and malty notes, with underlying dryness, thenchocolate eclair, lemon tart and lemon zest emerge.
Finish: Oakey smokeyness, lemon tart, then oak dryness.
Comment: Lemon notes add variety and illuminate theaccompanying characteristics.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Phenolic. Creosote. Smoky. Obviously coastly. Not much behind the smoke. A distant touch of vanilla maybe.
Palate: Sweet. Malty. Cereal bowl. Gets drier and smokier.
Finish: Smoky,dry,sooty
Comment: Judging by the colour (pale chardonnay),has obviously not gained from the cask. Has got all the phenolic spectrum but not much more, especially on the nose.
