Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Peaty, smoky, almost sooty.
Palate: Firm, slippery. Treacly, oaky. The oak is big but never overpowering.
Finish: Like eating hard butterscotch flavoured with root ginger, while indulging the odd post-prandial burp of Christmas pudding.
Comment: A beautifully composed, luxurious whisky.
9.8
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Toffee and sherry hand in hand, alongside ripe apples and grape. Sweet and sexy.
Palate: Mouth-filling and malty, sandwiched by some fine and extremely clean sherry notes.
Finish: Lingering Oloroso and liquorice; good age but light enough for the malt, spice and smoke finish.
Comment: Magnificent finesse and charm makes this a Macallan to die for.
