Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Sun-scorched grass. A hint of peat. Fragrant.
Palate: Surprisingly fat. Sweet, clean, cereal grain maltiness. Slightly syrupy. Developing minty notes. Peppermint patties.
Finish: Strong. Some phenol. Slight bitterness.
Comment: A reminder that a distillery with its own maltings gains a layer of character. So long as the maltings is working.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Minty! Quite smoky with clean malt, an earthy aroma. An intense heather/lavender lift. This highly-scented smoke intensifies with water. And time.
Palate: The perfumed smoke emerges fairly quickly. It's sweet but there's something unbalanced about it.
Finish: Oak grips slightly.
Comment: Did someone throw a bunch of dried lavender in the kiln? There's something about this intense fragrance in old Glen Gariochs which spoils the balance for me.
