Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: A big initial note of tangerines, becoming closer to Madeira in time, with underlying vanilla.
Palate: Smooth texture; orange segments sprinkled with black pepper. Very lively spices fill the mouth.
Finish: Quite long and spicy, with bitter chocolate orange notes.
Comment: A very interesting and individualistic expression of Auchentoshan. Takes a drop of water well.
7.5
Taster   Joe Bates
Nose: Light, floral aromas of rose petal and barley sugar.
Palate: Much more muscular on the palate with initial notes of honey sweetness giving way to hot spicy flavours.
Finish: A spicy, dry finish which doesn’t linger overly.
Comment: Seems a little raw and young on the palate, but a little water calms things down and opens up the flavours.
7.2
