Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Vibrant/zesty. Vanilla, citrus. Spices: cinnamon powder. With water, hot cross buns and marzipan.
Palate: Fairly firm structure but fizzing with life. Thick cream, soft fruits and a light malty cereal note. Sweet.
Finish: Oak and orange Spangles.
Comment: Fascinating-single malt aged in new US oak-resulting in a half-way house between bourbon and malt. A cracking drink.
8.3
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Instant hit of the breezy peat-smoke that I remember in Speyside malts. Did Glen Moray have this smokiness a dozen years ago?
Palate: The characteristic cereal-grain character is surprisingly assertive, almost husky, but it soon calms to biscuity shortbread and buttery notes.
Finish: Vegetal, rooty. Liquorice.
Comment: A robust rendition. One for mountaineers?
