Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: At first asparagus, damp leaf mulch, boiled broccoli, not sulphuric but very vegetal focussed. Then a little salted caramel, coffee grinds and sharp green fruits.
Palate: That salted caramel note comes through, green fruits, apple skins, unripe tomatoes, buttercream and steamed milk.
Finish: Some spice with more buttercream and ginger.
Comment: The nose is a little off putting at first, but don't dismiss this, it has depth.

Taster Neil Ridley

Nose: Very unusual on the first nosing - artichoke hearts, broad beans, nettles and fresh gooseberries. Very vegetative indeed.
Palate: The gooseberries continue to the palate, with a salty note, some hidden creaminess and tart lemon juice.
Finish: The finish develops more of a creaminess alongside some woody spice -a touch of liquorice root and oak.
Comment: Not unpleasant, but not without fault either. An enigma this one.
