Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Intense doesn’t do this nose justice. Huge herbal rye, smoked bacon, red wine jelly, cinnamon sticks, earth, coffee, treacle, brambly black fruit, bitter chocolate and subtle marc-like notes. Water emphasises the rye.
Palate: Young, sweet rose petal marc and redcurrant jelly to start, but the bitter wood notes and alcohol hit the palate hard. Diluted, it’s a bit homogenous.
Finish: So mouth-watering. It’s almost painful to hold it in the mouth with lingering herbal marc-like notes.
Comment: Y?oung, but entertaining.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Very dry forest floor, crunchy leaves and broken branches. Wafts of wood smoke and hay. With water, plums and vintage leather appear alongside mascherano cherries
Palate: Bitter oak is dominant here with the spirit playing the host to the oak’s dryness and astringencies. Needs lots of water to develop the vanilla and spices hidden behind.
Finish: Any rye spices are lost behind the sweet vanilla and dry oak.
Comment: Could work well in an Old Fashioned.
