Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Citrus, sour cherry and blossom accompany you through fields, until you graze your knee and have to open the first-aid box for TCP and bandages.
Palate: Fruity, dark chocolate with 70 per cent cocoa content and dried raspberries. Chewy toffees. The embers of a fire are put out with a cooling yet numbing combination of anise and menthol. There’s something agave-esque in there too – Tequila, anyone?
Finish: That common pairing of agave and sticking plasters.
Comment: Comme ci, comme ça.
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Rush of orchard fruits, stewed apples and pears. Mead-like. Fresh pastry. Honey fades, revealing cereal and grist notes. Haybarns at harvest-time.
Palate: Velvet texture with a huge maltiness. Grassy and vegetative tones mingle with baked apples. Lovely balance between the savoury with sweet honey and gentle vanilla.
Finish: Chewy, mouth-coating and malty, then grapefruit acidity. Lingering cinnamon for warmth.
Comment: A little quotidian. Still a pleasant companion.
