Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Mature, elegant and complex. Rancio, mulch, toasty wood, hazelnut, mango, black cherry, clootie dumpling, light smoke.
Palate: Fragrant but pretty firm. Needs water to soften the oak and reveal peach, chestnut honey, dried fruit and a hint of smoke. Balanced.
Finish: Cocoa, beech nut. Cognac like.
Comment: A classic from one of Speyside's forgotten greats.
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fragrant. Cedary. Honeyed. Seductive.
Palate: Soft, rich, tongue-coating. Clean, sweet. A hint of Seville orange. Intense heather-honey. Cereal-grain. Crunchy.
Finish: Gently drying. Shortbread.
Comment: A lovely example of a honeyish Speyside whisky.
