Tasting notes

Taster Michael Jackson

Nose: Oily. Hemp-like, very aromatic.
Palate: Again, very oily. Minty. Moving to orange. Becomes very fruity and succulent. Expressive. Flavoursome.
Finish: Sweet. Lingering. Teasing.
Comment: I have always had a sneaking admiration for this whiskey, and have long wondered why it is not more widely available. It is as though the Jim Beam family quietly accommodates its crazy cousin.

Taster Dave Broom

Nose: Light and perfumed though a little dusty with a whiff of acetone. White peppercorns, lemon myrtle, wood, pencil shavings.
Palate: Soft and lemony to start, with some perfumed honey. Decent hit of rye; the sourness balances nicely with the Iced Gem sweetness.
Finish: Dry and spicy.
Comment: A decent mid-weight introduction. Drink mixed.
