Tasting notes

Taster Joe Bates

Nose: Distinctly minty on the nose, along with menthol aromas too. Some salty, iodine notes dwell in the background.
Palate: Rich, leathery mouth-feel. Woody in character, but also some honey, aniseed, sea salt and a distinct waft of smoke as well.
Finish: A woody, gently smoky finish.
Comment: A bold, mature whisky with an intriguing nose and woody flavour. A good match for a plate of smoked salmon.

Nose: Warm asphalt, old leather, citrus fruit.
Palate: Smooth and slightly oaky, with dominant cloves.
Finish: Smoky cloves and hot spices.
Comment: A little too much clove, perhaps.
