Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Huge, butter-fat oaky notes. Sweet with caramelised fruit sugars, plum jam. Water brings out a candied peel note. Perfumed and slightly minty.
Palate: Lots of oak lactone and just enough grip to give structure and interest. Nutty malt and in time a strangely exotic rose petal/angelica flavour.
Finish: Floral.
Comment: More of a whisky spread than a drink. For those with a sweet tooth.
7.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Fruity. Pineapple juice. Spicy. Allspice, cloves. Orange peel. Medicinal like a rum grand arôme. Sandalwood. Very fragrant.
Palate: Sweet at start then displaying a sensuous spicy palette. Rum again! Demerara custard.
Finish: Tangy, spicy. Lingering.
Comment: Quite enticing and heady but so dressed up, and reminiscent of a rum. The cask has knocked the maltiness down.
