Tasting notes

Taster Chris Goodrum

Nose: Opens with herbal honey, malt, barley and hints of under-ripe banana. Citrus emerges along with white liquorice and vanilla.
Palate: A little under powered and straightforward with herbal honey, barley and vanilla oak. Nutty coffee on the middle with a touch of apricot and under-ripe banana.
Finish: Medium length finish with lingering barley and honey.
Comment: It’s pleasant enough in an unassuming way. Although it does fill out on the palate I would have liked to have seen it bottled at 43 or 46%.

Taster Neil Ridley

Nose: Vanilla custard, wet slate, green plums and very milky chocolate.
Palate: Sweet, syrupy peach juice, with an underlying apple and cinnamon note.
Finish: Lingering liquorice and a little spirit.
Comment: Not a great deal going on here. Some bite, but never really sinks its teeth in.
