Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Orange liqueur sweetness and a sweet chlorine. Orange peel and banana. With water a little more sherbety, then grassiness, vanilla and blossom. More baked banana.
Palate: Lots of bourbon cask character, with toasted oak and vanilla.
Finish: More US oak and a burnt twig bitterness.
Comment: The overall experience was harmed by the bitterness.
7.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Quite plain and oaky: cigar box, pine flooring, dry bracken, sweetening into sponge cake, date. With water a lightly doughy note and a hint of cold green tea.
Palate: Sweet...then dry...then sweet. Spreads well initially but becomes rather dull and flat.
Finish: Custard and then spice. Woodsmoke.
Comment: A disappointment after the class of the 1972.
