Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Big oily peat with some sweet cereal notes to it, suggesting youth. Dampwool, pepper, soot and first aid kit.
Palate: Huge and rich. Packed with ash, burning coal fires, roasted pine nuts, and a hint of fruit sweetness.
Finish: Just keeps on going.
Comment: There is a chance you will be tasting this for days. Mammoth stuff.
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Big assault of smoke, then seawater. Austere and airy with touches of wasabi, iodine and samphire that mix with green grass, old paper and seashells.
Palate: Immediate belt of smoke. Though lightly oily this evaporates on the tongue. A blast of smoke and seashore flavours around the mouth.
Finish: Clean and sharp with sooty smoke.
Comment: A head-cleaning experience. Not for the fainthearted.
