Tasting notes

Taster Joe Bates

Nose: Barley, sherry and toffee fudge all make a pleasing presence felt.
Palate: An impressively well-rounded whisky with dark chocolate, espresso coffee notes balanced out with stewed fruit flavours.
Finish: Sweet honeyed finish with just a hint of dry tobacco.
Comment: This attractively priced whisky is a great example of how good non-age statement whiskies can be.

Nose: Honey, vanilla, fudge and soft spices combine with big fruity notes of tangerine and mango.
Palate: Floral, with stewed fruit, brittle toffee, plus more honey and vanilla.
Finish: Grassy, peppery and drying, with a hint of orange.
Comment: Straightforward, easy-drinking Glenlivet at a fair price.
