Tasting notes
Taster   Joe Bates
Nose: Lots of sticky dessert aromas emanate from this dram. Lots of honey, butterscotch and if I’m not mistaken sticky toffee pudding. Yum!
Palate: Heaps of dried fruit on the palate along with sweet cinnamon, mingling with drier woody notes.
Finish: Notes of leather and cigar smoke add complexity to the finish.
Comment: A proper comfort blanket of a whisky this one. One to enjoy on a winter evening in front of a fire; sweet and rich with a hint of spice.
9.0
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Earthy, with developing apple blossom and a hint of caramel.
Palate: Sweet and spicy, but somewhat one-dimensional finish.
Finish: Black pepper and ginger, plus a return of the earthy aroma.
Comment: Perfectly drinkable, but perhaps a lack of complexity.
