Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Earthy with dry, dusty smokiness. Garden bonfire (dead), then créme brûlée/marshmallows; reminiscent of clay soil. Water calms it, brings out a hidden silkiness. That said, it lacks substance.
Palate: Immediate smoke. Best with a little water which allows banana creaminess to develop.
Finish: The smoke returns.
Comment: Though it feels good just lacking in weight. Maybe it would have improved with another five years in cask.
7.5
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Unusual. Boiled Jerusalem artichoke. Hint of petrol. Linseed oil.
Palate: Harsh and pungent. A burnt taste. Quite unpleasant. Cardboard.
Finish: Dry, bitter.
Comment: On top of a maturation in poor wood, seems to have undergone problems at distillation. Disappointing.
