Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Cashew nuts.
Palate: Gunpowder tea. Ginseng.
Finish: Just enough bitterness to be appetising. Salty.
Comment: The Islay origins become more obvious the more mature Bunnahabhain is. This one would be comfortable in distant Cathay or in Tokyo or even 42nd Street.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Colour suggests real age, as does the initially muted nose but in time there's crystallised ginger, raisin, mushroom, peach, fondant icing and hint of peat.
Palate: Very gentle but still sweetly fruity and spicy and a crackle of energy in the middle.
Finish: Light peat. Fades away gently.
Comment: Another cracker from the vaults. Burn Stewart must be rubbing their hands with glee.
