Tasting notes

Taster Dave Broom

Nose: Rich, muscular, sherried nose: liquorice, tar, runny treacle, incense. Water brings a light mintiness with a drift of perfumed smoke.
Palate: Big soft and sweet. Treacle again, this time with cold tea, chocolate orange and beautiful balance between grain and malt.
Finish: Long and soft.
Comment: Cutty with rippling well-oiled muscles. Well done!

Taster Michael Jackson

Nose: Mint, liquorice, anise, raisins.
Palate: The same components in the flavour. Against a rich, velvety, malt background. Nutty malt flavours, too.
Finish: Faint balancing peat and smoke. Quite long.
Comment: The extra years serve Cutty well. It is confident, expressive, expansive.
