Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Big-boned and gentle with decent dusty rye alongside toffee apple, herbsand and crisp new warehouse oakiness. Becomes woody with water.
Palate: Cinnamon/cassia and the sweet dustiness comes through notes of damask rose and grippy wood.
Finish: Firm and oaky.
Comment: A powerful distillate which is best neat.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Perfumy. Parma violet. Dried apricot. Quite a solid oaky frame. Polishedfurniture. Touch of sandalwood. Vetiver. Rhubarb jam.
Palate: Crisp and dry. Oak is overwhelming with a definite astringency whichtends to mask the fruit flavours. Spices take the lead.
Finish: Spicy and bitter.
Comment: An old bourbon which has taken too much wood. Sad as there is elegancyand complexity on the nose.
