Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Funky. Cheddar cheese rind and light prune, then waxed jackets. After time in the glass sherried fruits emerge. It's considerably more straightforward with water - take your choice.
Palate: So soft it comes as a shock after such a direct nose. Gentle, smooth and almost shy with very gentle soft fruits.
Finish: Juicy, then light barley.
Comment: Just get the feeling that bottling at a slightly higher strength might have given it the kick it needs for the palate to balance the nose.
7.7
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: On the oak side. Sawdust. Joiner cabinet. A sweet touch. Toffee
Palate: Smooth, velvety. Hazelnut fudge. Quite weak at midpalate. Too soft.
Finish: Short. Fades away quickly. Drying on an astringent note.
Comment: Nothing really unlikeable, apart from that soft weakness. But nothing to get excited about. Water kills it.
