Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Delicate peat smoke wrapped in red summer fruits, this nose is juicy and inviting with a hint of Islay goodness.
Palate: A very well rounded palate where the smoke integrates perfectly with summer fruits and vanilla to give a rich and unctuous, incredibly drinkable smoky whisky.
Finish: Perfectly rounded, with a hint of cracked black pepper and white tea.
Comment: Excellent smoky whisky making, soft and delicate yet broad shoulders, punchy.
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Mature aromas of violet tinged earthy peat, dusty American oak, barley, liquorice, coffee and gentle spices. Deep and aromatic with a light coastal nuance.
Palate: Initially quite sweet and like the nose quite violety with just a distant echo of peat. Dusty American oak notes build on the middle joining the beautiful mature malt. Again, a light coastal nuance balances the sweetness.
Finish: Wow! What a finish! Now the salt really kicks in but the oak and violety peat lingers.
Comment: That is a fine old Islay malt. Beautifully mature but still alive and kicking.
