Taster Sara SmithNose:
Nose: A strong nose of treacle, liquorice, and pipe tobacco, followed by dry biscuit, oatcakes, and damp wool. Underlying, intense fruitiness that reminded me of red vermouth.Palate:
Savoury, with good, solid notes of grain, black pepper, dry wine, and dark chocolate. Rich tobacco notes, it wasn’t as overpowering as the nose suggested.Finish:
A dry flavour, reminiscent of paper, accompanied by a lingering warmth.Comment:
This whisky, especially the nose, really paints a picture and brings back memories. One to take on country walks.
