Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Gristy and estery with banana, apricot, melon, pear and herbal honey. Sweeter and herbal with time, the alcohol takes the edge off the sweetness. Water brings out the toffeed oak and the sweetness.
Palate: Soft but intense with fleshy apricot, banana and barley. Coffee, bitter chocolate and sweet, herbal, rye-like notes. Water brings out the oils and the toffeed oak.
Finish: Long and mouth-watering. Spicy, fleshy fruit. Neat and diluted the alcohol is a little drying.
Comment: Young, very exuberant. Enjoyable with or without water.
Taster   Alwynne Gwilt
Nose: Lots of green grass and some pungent sour notes and Savlon to start – reminds of tobacco leaves. Freezer-burnt ice cream, milk bottles, hot cross buns and toffee yoghurt.
Palate: Toffee, peanut butter, ice cream – even the cone! Somecrème caramel and then a lingering rock candy note.
Finish: Drying and slightly bitter finish, but nice balance to the sweeter notes of the whisky.
Comment: Nice and sweetie like. Lots of candy shoppe flavours but not overly complex or supremely exciting. Just pleasant.
